Nice try but no banana! I even had to go to spell check to get banana spelled right. Good luck and good fishing! Northeastbass, I really enjoy your comments and website. Uncle Tom
I built my own lure company as a young man--thus the name UncleTomsJigs. It grew so well I decided to give it up and go fishing with family, friends and especially grand children. I became disabled as a United Methodist Pastor IN 2002 and retired here in Coastal Georgia on a 10 acre lake where I continue to fish despite my disabilities. My wonderful wife and I enjoy fishing together. God has blessed us in so many ways and we pray the same for you. I am excited about having so many new friends all over this great country.

You can go to www.BassMasters.com an click on the showcase of ICAST of 2010. I wish they could have this type of show in other area's. As of now it is only in Florida & Vegas. Then only the company sponcers and pro's and then press, not open to th public! I think they could have a raffle for several persons to get in to see what others don't!

Thanks Dennis. I didn't know it was that exclusive. I understand not completely open to the general public, everybody would want to go and it would be nuts. At the same time you can make the argument that if you have just cooperate sponsors and pros there they are not actually going to provide any revenue to the companies, then in six months they are the ones that are peddling the latest and greatest to us schmucks, the ones that actually have to pay for the stuff! Why not have at least a few regular Joe's so they can get to experience it. Then again, maybe we can all just start our out fishing websites and get press credentials for reporting. LOL

Most big wholesale houses do a similar thing on a little smaller scale.  Usually, they invite representatives of their larger customers.  If you can get to know some people from your local tackle shops you might go with them.  I use to fish small tournaments with a friend whose family owned and lived out of one store.  One brother was in charge of firearms, one in charge of archery, yet another in charge of fishing tackle, a cousin cut specialty cuts of meat and the father ran the cash resister.  Great people!  I went as his guest several times and it was awesome.  I had always thought of their operation as kind of hole in the wall.  When we got to the show, all the venders took special time to talk with my friend--discovered a lot is based on the size of account you bring.  Later found out this little country store was the largest wholesale customer at the show!  There are some outdoor fairs or shows as well.  One of the nicest I've ever attended was in Charleston, South Carolina.  NAFC out to have some representatives at similar fishing shows.  Uncle Tom
